What do you love about Toronto?
That's easy. I love that this city is full of smart talented creatives ranging from the arts to information technology. I also love that Toronto, even though it is not a big city, has so very many different neighbourhoods, each worth a wander.

What is your favourite neighbourhood?
Ok, that one is not so easy. I'd have to say Kensington Market. Also Riverside, Leslieville, Cabbagetown. Regarding the latter, I don't think there is a neighborhood where people love up their yards more!

What is your least favourite thing about Toronto?
I believe I would have this in common with a number of others in Toronto, the notorious destruction of most of Toronto's historical buildings and the carte blanche the City seems to give developers. I am particularly passionate about this topic.

Favourite place to have a drink?
Definitely The Comrade and Goods & Provisions. The same people are behind both. For me they exude a sense of a different place and time. There are a few places that I call happy places and even fewer magic places. These two bars for me are definitely magic. I remember the first time I walked into The Comrade, I thought: “I want this to be mine.” I have instagrammed about Good & Provisions, describing the ambience as Twin Peaks meets Canadianna.

I also love the lounge at Don Alfonso. It’s in a beautiful old building. Although it is upscale, there's no pretension here. The cocktails are super fantastic and Rob, the head bartender… well, he's a star....

Favourite coffee places?
My all time long time favourite is the Moonbean Cafe in Kensington Market. It’s my westend go to for a soy latte. It seconds as a sanctuary for me too. The Redline Coffee & Espresso Bar on Queen East and Parliament is my eastend go to for a soy latte (great coffee too). And Tango Palace, further along Queen East, mostly for the ambience.
