Cocktail of the Week: Chantecler’s Elephant in the Room
Inspired French food, cozy atmosphere, targeted wine list and creative cocktails.
What’s not to love about Chantecler?
The teensy French bistro has made its home in Parkdale for six years, inspiring foodies from across the city (and frequently outside the city) to flock here for indulgent classics like steak tartare, cheese puffs and easily the best French onion soup in the city. Check it out:
Owner Jacob Wharton-Shukster and his team keep the critically hungry and thirsty masses well fed and quenched Tuesday – Sunday well into the wee hours of the morning.
With a cocktail list that spans from inspired classics like the Pink Lady, to inventive proprietary drinks like the one barman Josh Lindley served one of our recent tours.
Called “The Elephant in the Room” this citrusy, nutty, herbal mixture had our guests raving – and asking for the recipe.
As always, there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for our tour takers, so we pestered Josh to send it to us, despite being on vacation in the US. Thanks, Josh!
